Passionate About Inspiring Others

Coach Kramer Whitelaw started wrestling at age 5 for the Dundalk Hawks in Dundalk, Maryland. Wrestling and specifically success in wrestling did not come easy for him though. After a few years of hard work and dedication things finally started to click. Coach Kramer contributes a large portion of his success later in his career to Freestyle and Greco Roman training with Coach Mike DeSarno of the Maniacs at a young age. Kramer would go on to be a two time team captain, State Champion, 3x National Prep All American, and Fargo All American for The McDonogh School in Owings Mills, MD. After High School Kramer attended and wrestled for George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.

After college, Kramer accepted a sales job and wrestling took a backseat to his new career. That didn't last long and he began coaching at his alma mater McDonogh School. A few years later, he accepted a role as a full time coach at a Wrestling and Sports Performance facility in Harford County, MD.

In September 2016, through the generous support of MMA Legend John Rallo, Kramer was able to open the doors of Ground Control Wrestling Academy. A year round training facility devoted to the progression and success of wrestlers of all ages across the state of Maryland. Coach Kramer uses a mixture of high level technique, chain wrestling, agility and strength training to help deliver a unique training program for all.

Kramer has coached at McDonogh School, Sparrows Point High School, St. Pauls School for Boys, and currently Gilman School.

Coach Kramer enjoys fishing and golfing in his free time and loves spending time on the water as much as possible.

Whitelaw Trained Athletes have gone on to attend The Ohio State University, Princeton University, McDaniel College, The University of Maryland, California Baptist University, Bryn Athen University, and Keystone College.
